Different notification sound for email and text messages

I'm wondering if there is a way on the Bionic, Native or App, to have different notification sounds for email and text messages.
Right now i get the same sound for an email and a text message. I'd like to assign different sounds to each.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most of the apps will have a setting for notification which should allow you to set a specific ringtone or sound.

There is also an app call LED Light Flow which adjusts your LED, vibration or sound for notification. There is a free & paid version in the market.

I use Whoisit to control all of the notifications. Each email account and contact can have a different sound, etc..but it is a paid app.

Thanks - I'll look into those. By the way, and maybe this has to be a new post-I'm not sure, last night, Bionic was docked by the bed and all through the night, email notifications were ringing through. There must be a way to silence all notifications EXCEPT phone calls while I sleep. Any thoughts.

WhoIsIt might do that - I don't recall for sure tho...but I know there is an app in the market call Night Ringer (free & paid version) that will allow you set profiles for who can call in at set times...

Go to gmail>"your account"> labels to notify> inbox
This is where you can set a specific notification ringtone for gmail notifications. This is of course for gmail only.

There is an app called Timeriffic that allows you to set profiles for separate volume levels based on the time of day. It's free and works great.

You can easily change the email and text ring tones by opening the app, go to options (left most bottom button) then settings and then notifications. Do this for each and choose the ring tone you want.

I do the same thing you want at night, I turn off all notifications but keep the phone ringer on. I use a free app called Sound Manager. Easy to adjust the volume for notifications or phone as you want.

After being woken up all night by every single email, I finally figured this out. This fix applies to gmail only.

Open gmail.
Click on Menu
More
Settings

Underneath your account settings, choose the account whose notifications you need to modify.

Then, scroll down until you see:
Labels to Notify

Click on Inbox, then clear the checkmark in the box next to Email notifications.

I am looking forward to my first good night's sleep since I got my Bionic!
